Chrono Trigger and Weird-y Cuteness

In honour of one of my favourite games of all-time being re-released [this time for the Nintendo DS], I drew two characters from it. They are 2 of my favourite characters from the game. I present my versions of Queen Zeal and her daughter, Schala:

Check out Square-Enix's official site here.

Being a freak of nature, I own four copies of this game. 2 SNES cartridges [I keep telling myself it's just in case one of them dies], 1 Playstation copy [available with FF4], and a computer emulator. But now with the DS copy, I can take it with me EVERYWHERE.

Yes, I am that much of a freak.

Anyhoo, here are some cute-sy doodles that I did during a few classes last week.
They started out as an homage to "Veggibles," a group of weirdness that some old acquaintances came up with. I was never really privy to the story behind them, and I couldn't remember which veggies were actually in the ensemble, aside from Celery!. Who is, I think, mildly retarded. Like Timmy on South Park. Yes.

But then the doodles took on lives of their own, until a fully-rendered scene spilled out during ProPrac class.

....I hope people don't judge me by the oddness that comes from my pens.

We have been robbed!

And I mean that in the strictest sense possible.
What I mean by this, is that I picked up the graduation commencement invitations and announcements yesterday, and compared to last year's [and the years before], they are a cheap, poorly-crafted and sad excuse for art. I don't even want to send them out... they embarrass me.

Seriously, I pay all this money to graduate, and they can't even afford decent paper? Or even a simple design? Everything is a bright tomato red with white text. It's pixellated and the only "design" is a quashed blurb of white that looks like something I made in illustrator as a freshman. ...and I SUCKED at illustrator as a freshman. I still do, and I've gotten loads better!

Again, I am ashamed to say that those are the official announcements of my graduation.

Flabbergasted and repulsed.
That is what I am.
Sad day.

To cheer myself up, I made pretty a pretty little promo. The text will come later, but here it is anyways:

The Gettysburg Address, perhaps, instead?

HOLEE MOLEE.

My graduating class just dodged a bullet with the commencement speeches...
All I can say is: Holy cow, and, ohmygoodness thank gawd.

Sooooooooooooo. Anyways.

Finished the concept art and finals for the Target Giftcard project.

To be honest, I like the shoe much better than the gardening supplies. Then again, I loves the purple. And as a sophisticated woman, I prefer shoes to gardening things. I love gardening, but visually, I prefer nicer, more materialistic things. Especially when pertaining to buying material items. A shoe on a card just makes more sense to me.

Then again, I kind of want to see a giftcard with the image of a giftcard on it. With the words, "Sorry for the lousy gift, but you're picky and I'm lazy" plastered on it.

Yes.

... back to working on Senior Project stuffs. Huzzah.

Halloweens.

...the past few days have been absolutely loco. Between being sick [still and again] and schoolwork, and parties... just wowsers.

Halloween has always bee a favourite holiday, despite not being allowed to go trick-or-treating once I turned eleven [my mother said I was too old]. So this year I decided to make a costume and celebrate anyways. My fiance and I were going to go as Jasmine and Jafar from Disney's Aladdin, but we didn't like the costumes that were available. Oh well.

So instead, I roped together Princess Leia's metal bikini from Return of the Jedi. I started it Thursday evening and finished it right before a major Halloween party Friday night.

Aside from someone dressed up as Borat, I was the most naked person at the party-- which is impressive, given the fact that hundreds of people appeared at the apartment complex [we opened up 3 of the 4 apartments to people for the party].

Anyways, I quickly spliced together a cheap-ass image in photoshop of moi in said costume. YAYNESS.

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween!
